Platinum Equity Hires Kris Agarwal as General Counsel

LOS ANGELES (July 1, 2018) –  Platinum Equity announced today the hiring of Kris Agarwal as the firm’s General Counsel.

Mr. Agarwal recently joined the firm and oversees Platinum Equity’s legal department, legal support for Platinum Equity’s fund and investor relations, and legal affairs for the firm’s portfolio companies.

Mr. Agarwal succeeds Eva Kalawski, who is retiring after serving as Platinum Equity’s General Counsel for more than 20 years.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity, Mr. Agarwal spent nearly 10 years with Lime Rock Management, where he was General Counsel and Managing Director, providing legal and strategic advice on transactions, fund activity, litigation, regulatory compliance, and IT/Cybersecurity matters.

Mr. Agarwal began his legal career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and subsequently worked at Vinson & Elkins LLP.  While in private practice in New York City he focused on corporate and transactional matters, including cross-border transactions and representation of private equity firms and public companies in connection with public and private acquisitions, divestitures, and investment transactions.

Mr. Agarwal has B.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Texas A&M, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law.
